Saturday, September 2, 2017 - St
Regis, Montana to Osoyoos, BC.Canada
This morning
after leaving the campground we went to the next little village of St Regis for
a lovely breakfast – Best omelets! We
drove west, continuing in the mountains, to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, at which
point we turned north on US highway 95, with the destination of the Canadian
Border.

We picked up
some groceries today, after which we wondered if we could take the fruit from
us, at the border. We were the only
vehicle at the border and it was very simple in that we had no fire arms!
In Canada,
we drove west on Hwy 3, which is just over the US border. We were up and down and around more mountain
today, over so many passes we lost count, and around so many curves it is
amazing the steering wheel stayed on!! We followed lovely rivers, had great vista
views, saw beautiful calm lakes, but saw no wildlife today. Our biggest disappointment has been hazy skies,
that are due to forest fires. Tonight the sun was even blocked, so that it appeared
to be a big orange ball.
Due to the Labor
Day, holiday weekend, we were fortunate there was a cancellation at the Holiday
Inn in Osoyoos, so we are in a hotel tonight – with WIFI so I can write this
blog.
However, we
do know that we can stay in the SUV on this trip, if need be.
