Kingston Springs, TN to Clarksville, TN - Monday, July 1, 2013

I need to begin with a note regarding the temperatures.  Two days ago after a storm went through the hot temperatures disappeared.  Both Sunday & Monday mornings saw the temperature in the lower 60’s.  Actually you wanted a little cover-up for the first hour then the temperature would warmed up until it very comfortable the rest of the day.  As I am writing this, it is 67 degrees.  I am wearing a cover-up shirt.  We could not have imagined this several days ago!

Today we continued on the curvy back roads of TN past more horse farms and more lovely homes and a few.….hills!  Of course there were more and more hills.  Cal figured he was down in ‘granny gear’ at least 20 times when climbing hills, but when he went downhill he was up to 35mph and braking.

We passed a home that had lots and lots of hybrid day lilies, in all colors.  It was lovely – (see photos), and we passed several lovely country churches.  In fact we stopped by a church at noon.  I made our lunch and we ate on the steps of the church.

It was approximately 1:00 when the thunder started so we knew we would be rained out.  We were approximately 10 miles south of Clarksville, TN when we loaded the bike, and drove into town to find a motel.  It has poured and poured rain the rest of the afternoon.  At about 7:00 pm we found a break in the rain so we could run to a grocery store without getting soaked.  The storm is to be pass this area by morning - We hope so.
